Naves Supply was born
in 1997 as a concessionary for the port operator Panama Ports Company, who was granted, in concession by the Panamanian government, the operation of both the Balboa Port in the Pacific and Cristobal Port in the Atlantic.
In 2000, we were the first company in Panama to install a state-of-the-art incinerator purchased in Texas, U.S.A., to render a new service: the reception and disposal of waste.
With the inception of this new service, we requested the attention of the sanitary and quarantine authorities that up to that moment had not worried about the disposal of this type of waste – as established in the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, MARPOL 73/78 – of which Panama was signatory “not in compliance”. Together we started an awareness campaign to let the world know that Panama was now offering these services to ships coming to their ports while the pertinent authorities updated some of the existing legislature and created new laws.
Who We Are.
To this day, we continue to be a concessionary of Panama Ports Company and to effectively and successfully provide the services of waste disposal and water supply but now, not only to vessels that dock in the Balboa Port, but ships that transit to the Panama Canal as well.
We are now proud to inaugurate a new high-tech incinerator of European manufacture which complies with all International and national legal specifications and possesses the ISO 14001 mark of excellence.
